For Caroline O’Connor Dyer and her husband, Corey Dyer, getting married was not just a one day event, it was a weekend-long party.
“I really just wanted it to be a really memorable, fun party,” Caroline remembers. “That was really my main focus. I just wanted everyone to be dancing until the very last song and having a great weekend in Bermuda.”
Getting married at Coral Beach & Tennis Club was an easy for decision for Caroline and Corey. Caroline spent many vacations in Bermuda with her family growing up, and it’s an easy, direct flight from where the couple currently lives in New York City.
“Ever since my family started going down to Bermuda, Coral Beach has always been so special to me,” Caroline shares. “It’s just a very calming place and I feel like there’s a lot of love there. I knew I didn’t want to do a New York City wedding so it just made the most sense to me. It’s like home even though it’s not home.”
In lieu of a rehearsal dinner, the weekend kicked off with a welcome dinner at Coral Beach’s Horizons House for all of the 114 guests the Dyer wedding brought to Bermuda—a true testament to everyone’s love for the happy couple.
On the day of the wedding, Caroline and her six bridesmaids were treated to their very own cottage to spread out and get ready. Corey spent the morning with his eight groomsmen, preparing to see Caroline for the first time that day as she walked down the aisle.
The two tied the knot during a traditional church wedding ceremony. The ceremony was planned to be outside, however rain caused the nuptials to be relocated indoors.
While most brides would be upset at the thought of rain on their wedding day, Caroline embraced it. Everyone had been together the night before at the Horizons welcome dinner, so no one missed out on the opportunity for an outdoor party. Corey and Caroline were even able to capture their wedding photos outdoors as the rain broke long enough to allow for a few pictures on the beach as guests enjoyed cocktail hour.
The celebration at Coral Beach could not have gone better, Caroline recalls.
“The entire staff of Coral Beach & Tennis Club collectively made this weekend truly the most memorable time of my life,” she says. “I will never be able to put into words how thankful I am for their attention to detail and dedication to helping create the weekend of our dreams.”
The weekend went out with a literal bang at the farewell dinner. Everyone enjoyed a ride out on the water in a glass bottom boat, a party on the beach, and a night that concluded with a beach bonfire and fireworks show.
Spending the weekend celebrating and partying with friends and family was an important dream come true for Caroline and Corey.
“It was perfect,” Caroline fondly remembers. “It rained on my wedding day and I barely can remember the fact that it rained. If something had gone wrong I never would have known because the staff would have fixed it without me ever knowing. I just felt so taken care of and loved; it was amazing. It was how every girl should feel.”
