Each year we look forward to revealing Bermudas
floral designs in vogue. In 2015, the islands top florists
tell us to expect fresh trends like more organic looks,
exciting new hues, and metallic accents.
ORGANIC BEAUTY Couples are leaning toward a more natural and organic feel for their floral arrangements. I see brides choosing grays and blushes. We also incorporate herbs, which add that natural appeal. We are seeing many couples choosing garden roses, crisp white hydrangeas, and orchids, says Marguerite Clark, Creative Director of Demco. We find ourselves creating more unstructured and free spirited arrangements, explains Petals Owner/Creative Director Nikki Begg. A great deal of thought and love goes into our field to vase bouquets.
We explore the world of flow TRENDING HUES A color story gives a wedding that signature touch. This year, couples can look forward to a variety of gorgeous palettes. Nikki informs us that marsala is the color of the year. Its so intoxicating; it makes me weak at the knees, she says. This brown-red shade offers a warm sophistication. Its subtlety seductive. Marguerite is discovering multiple trending color combinations. Im seeing tropical tones like hibiscus pink, which is very characteristic of Bermuda. Coral pairs well with aqua or chocolate brown. A gold and blush combination is also a popular choice, as well as the ever classic white and ivory hues PHOTO BY DEMCO A TOUCH OF SHINE
To give the room a little sparkle, couples are introducing metallics into their table décor. I love metallics this year, says Nikki. Antique gold and titanium vases complement the arrangements. Also adding a touch of shine are sequins and candle light. When decorating a table, Marguerite often uses glittering linens and romantic floating candles. The light illuminates the centerpieces.
