Brides, varied as they come, typically agree on one musthave
for their weddings: jewelry. Large or small, festive or
dainty, brides, grooms, and their excited families team up
to find the perfect jewelry for their wedding and beyond.
Not only will the perfect jewelry accent the show-stopping
gowns brides scour multiple boutiques to find, but it can
also transition to day-to-day wear. More than any other
element of your wedding plans, your bridal jewelry will be
the keepsake, the reminder of that special day, and the
commitment youve made.
For brides getting married in Bermuda, there are several choice jewelers on the island who can guide you and your fiancée to the jewelry of your dreams. One of the premier among them, Alexandra Mosher of Alexandra Mosher Studio Jewellery, gave us a peek in to her work, sharing her insight on the increasingly popular trends, as well as classic Bermuda traditions in wedding jewelry. The renowned jeweler gave us an idea of how she incorporates the islands charm into her design aesthetic. It needs to be an expression of who you are, says Alexandra. While you may never wear the dress again, the jewelry is timeless. It is an heirloom, a treasure; something loved and cherished.
Although rings are the most symbolic piece of jewelry, couples and their families need to account for other sorts of jewelry for the big day and beyond. Brides typically wear jewelry in addition to rings, including earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and headpieces. Not sure what to include? At a bare minimum, I would strongly recommend a gorgeous pair of earrings, says Alexandra. But if youre thinking of adding another piece, consider a bracelet. You will have hundreds of photos of your bouquet, your husband holding your hands, or your arms draped around his neck, says Alexandra. What is lovely about a bracelet is that it adds an extra element to your look and photos. Certainly, Bermudas artists are inspired by their picturesque surroundings.
The islands famous pink sand also provides inspiration, particularly for Alexandra, who is perhaps best known for her Pink Sand collection. Each one is its own little world, where the sand is composed as the centerpiece of the jewel, she describes. Mosher loves to tell her love story with Bermuda through her bejeweled tributes and is excited to work with brides and families to help them express their experiences similarly. In planning my own wedding last year, I fell in love with the beauty and intricacies of flowers, she says. I learned so much about arrangements and bouquets, and was compelled to design a floral collection for my own wedding.
With the Fera Collection, I designed a series of flowers that could be arranged in a myriad of ways for each of my bridesmaids and my own special wedding day look. Bermuda is infused in all of my designs. They are organic, sculptural, hand-carved pieces, each with their own story. Whether its traditional or trendy styles that you seek, youre sure to benefit from Bermuda jewelers vast, high-quality selections and expertise in customer service, which ensure youll find a jewelry look thats right for you and your family.
