Adam Rossides and Sarah Strass’s wedding brought the beauty of Bermuda to life, drawing inspiration from throughout the island. The day was filled with the colors of Bermuda, from the blush pinks of the island’s sand, to the seafoam greens and royal blues of the ocean.
With the colors of the beach present throughout the day, it may come as no surprise that a beach ceremony was important to the newlyweds. They looked forward to sharing with their families the place they now called home. Sarah and Adam met at the airport four and half years ago on their way to Bermuda, where they had both gotten teaching jobs, and made the island their permanent residence.
“The wedding was really special because we were able to share Bermuda with both of our families, and have all the people together on this little island all at once,” shared Sarah.
Vibrant blue skies provided the backdrop for Sarah and Adam’s nuptials. Blush, seafoam green, and royal blue were painted across the wedding party. All groomsmen wore seafoam green ties while Adam stood out in a pink tie. The bridesmaids stunned in seafoam green dresses that perfectly matched the ties.
“When we decided to have our wedding in Bermuda, we both knew immediately there was no question that Adam was going to wear Bermuda shorts and knee-high socks,” explained Sarah. “All the groomsmen, and even a lot of the male guests, got totally into it.”
As for the bride, Sarah picked out a gorgeous dress during a trip to Colorado to visit her mom. Trying on dress after dress led Sarah to choose a sweetheart neckline, lace overlay on top, and a pure silk chiffon skirt. Heading back to Bermuda, she took the dress to Rene Hill Originals to put on some necessary bling.
“We added a crystal and pearl beaded belt to get a little bit of bling,” says Sarah. “She also did the hem and it came out looking gorgeous.”
Sarah and Adam’s wedding took the colors of the ocean from the ceremony to the reception. Sarah collected sea glass throughout her time in Bermuda, which she repurposed as escort cards for each of the guests. Everyone found their table using custom Bermuda scenes Sarah hand-painted as the table identifiers. Flowers by GiMi created the reception tablescapes, sprinkling loose sea glass around Sarah’s paintings, and placing several floral arrangements on each table made up of assorted pink and seafoam green flowers.
Adam and Sarah’s wedding was the party no one wanted to end. Despite being scheduled to end at midnight, the couple’s DJ from Allstar Productions fed off the crowd, and kept the fun going until 2 a.m., creating a day the happy couple will never forget.
